STHLMVII - This Sunday

Speaking of Ben Drury yesterday, I'm very happy that he will be here in Stockholm this Sunday as part of STHLMVII.
It's a mix of football matches (between creative types and the cooler retail shops) here in Stockholm,
mixed with some creative guests talking about, um - creative things. All hosted by Nike Sportswear!

This will be a lot of fun I'm sure. More info HERE...

Fashion disco hits Stockholm in the form of the current golden hit makers with crossover potential, Aeroplane.

Aeroplane is a Belgium based Dj – Producer duo named Stephen Fasano and Vito Deluca. Their music is a mix of
psychedelic guitars, pop keys, melancholic waves, disco beats & catchy basslines. They released their 1st 12" in

RICHE - Emma Löfström Private View

If you are out and about in Stockholm tonight, pop by the private view of illustrator Emma Lofstrom. Currently a
RCA student, the future looks bright for her and her sometimes twisted illustrations. I've known Emma for sometime
now, some of my fondest memories of her is from the early 00s, stood at bars giving East London lads pint races
and winning every time. If you are coming tonight, challage her as I know she's out of practice these days ;-)

Her work will be up and on display in Riche until the 21st of April 2009. She is represented by NU Agency.

ANDREAS GURSKY - Exhibition

Today I caught the Andreas Gursky exhibition at the Moderna Museet, Stockholm. Having been fascinated by his
images for well over a decade it was great to finally see many of his pieces up close and in a large format.
Gursky is well know for his photography reaching record prices and breaking the boundaries between art and
photography. In 2007, his print 99 Cent II, Diptych, took the record for highest price paid at auction for a single
photographic image. Sold for GBP 1.7 million (USD $3.3 million) at Sotheby's, London. And why not I say!

MIA NILSSON - Sthlm Street Art

As the rest of the capital cities in the world get bigger and better commissioned street-art, Sthlm gets it's first real piece!

To celebrate the re-launch of the Levis 501, Levis spent two years working to get the permission to give one creative
the chance to show their work on a wall in Stockholm. The artist was found with the help of a Vice Magazine search
which requested their readers to create an artwork based on the Levi's® 501® jeans campaign theme "Live Unbuttoned".

The winner was Mia Nilsson. Her illustration can be seen at Grevturegatan 8 on a 5 X 11 meter wall for the next couple of months.
Mia Nilsson's contribution as well as the ten other best contributions can be seen in a special art fanzine packaged with the latest
issue of Vice and at www.viceland.com/liveunbuttoned

Catch up Sweden, these type of projects attract tourism and give a good impression to the youth-culture in other parts of the world!
