Shocking Barack - Brammo Road Trip

If you don't already know what the Brammo Enertia Motorcycle is... it's 100% electric with NO carbon footprint...
the most energy efficient electric vehicle in America (they say) and they seem to go quite fast as well ;-)

And there're off! They're plan is to retrace the route of the automotive CEOs who went to Washington DC asking for
government loans. But instead of looking for aid, they'd like to present President Obama with a homegrown solution
to the transportation crisis. They want to spread the word and have a little fun while we're doing it. Help them US!!!

What a great idea and concept this is to spread the word on a limited budget! CPB of course!!!

Lufthansa - Create Social Application

The SAS Facebook Connect application/campaign, Globe Of Fortune, was a huge success and nice experiment
for the airline to raise awareness of the brand within/on social networks. But this new Lufthansa tool, MySkyStatus
is actually really useful to and for people. Basically by adding your flight number and details it sends altitude,
location, departure and arrival updates automatically to your Facebook and Twitter pages. And it's not restricted
to just Lufthansa flights, but seems all the carriers are there, pulling info from one big database.

This is one strategy brands can really jump on these days, connecting to people by creating useful things, tools,
whatever - that actually make peoples life's easier, or help them in someway. This feeds back into the brand!

The SAS campaign was obviously going for the fun element and relying on Facebook to help spread the word,
which is also valid and helps spread awareness, in that case of their flight destinations.

I look forward to using this! One problem is the robbers can then clean your house out while you're just getting into
the movie and sipping on your drink at 36,000 ft. Good to keep in mind if you're connected to some dodgy types ;-)

Everything.Collected - RSS reader by Great Works

What the hell is going on this week, social social social is really breaking big! It's taken a good few years of
creatives, planners and agencies giving their blood and sweat trying to convince brands and clients of the importance
of getting into social asap. Yes, the big brands have been there a while, but now finally it feels like all the others are
following fast, lesson to learn there clients! Message for the future... Drive the train, don't just ride it!

Anyway moving on... The new RSS reader (is it more than that, haven't worked it out yet) #Everything.Collected by
#Great Works is great!!!
The main difference from other RSS readers such as Netvibes etc it seems, is that you can
pull various feeds into one big feed. Great if you have a lot of feeds to get through everyday!

The design is also something which feels much more approachable to the masses than most RSS readers...
less techy and a simpler colour coded #Collected (folder) system ;-)

I look forward to seeing how this develops! If it needs to at all?

A future pop-star from Japan?

Stefan Sagmeister - 7 year itch

I was lucky enough to hear Sagmeister talk at Offf 09, last May in Portugal. Although he is one of those speakers
who seems to be at all the conferences, the way he articulates his presentations and the simplicity of the themes
are always really impactful and memorable. A must see speaker!

In this new Ted talk above, he talks about the break he takes every 7 years from commercial work and puts a lot of
great rational behind it. I had a similar break for 6 months in 2003, really beneficial... hhhmmm roughly 7 years ago ;-)

I HAVE SYNTH - Do you?

Unfortunately I don't make so much music these days :-( a little here and there but usually too busy to really focus.
This new community for synth lovers is really on the money! It's rare to see such a well designed info driven
community in this type of field... but more than that this is a great way for synth lovers to connect, share and chat
about their main obsession in life! Follow on twitter as well...

I wonder if Vince Clark is in the community, probably! This clip below sounds like a great track...

Where are we on the social media hype cycle?

Interesting if it pans out like this! Now go fourth and show your clients and brands ;-)
Not my model BTW, it would be better designed... which I'll do if I get the time, probably around year 2-3 hopefully :-)

Dizzee Rascal x Ben Drury x Nike - AM90 Promo

Had to post this, as work from Ben Drury is quite scarce these days! Love his stuff, stemming back to Mo' Wax.

Today, Nike Sportswear and Mercury Music Prize winning recording artist Dizzee Rascal will release the very
special, and strictly limited, Nike Air Max 90 “Tongue N’ Cheek” sneaker. The shoe has been created in a special
partnership between Dizzee, Nike Design and long-time Dizzee collaborator and creative director, Ben Drury.

Creative Director - From the North!
