Love him or hate him, James Lavelle definitely played an influential part in bringing a huge chunk of underground
music/street culture into awareness. Through fashion, music and art he created a style and sub-culture of it's own,
which in some form still exists today, although it may have different players. His visionary skills not only brought an
eclectic mix together via music, but his approach of connecting a visual identity to it was forward thinking and had
been lacking in youth culture (to that degree) for sometime!
Looking forward to catching this documentary, when it comes out? It's been in pre-production for ages.
It will probably only have 2 cinema showings, in London and Tokyo. The DVD release will be 200 quid and limited
to 10 copies worldwide. Are people still into that strategy ;-)
